Welcome to the new club web site! This all new design incorporates much of the information from the old web site and adds some new features. The goals are to provide rich information to new and prospective members of the club, improve the social networking aspects of our club, and honor the hard work of former members by preserving their work.
One way we are improving the social networking of the club is to provide a discussion forum similar to BMWMOA forums, Advrider.com, BMWLT.com, Two Wheel Texans, The San Antonio BMW Club, the New Mexico BMW Club, and many others. Note we are keeping a link to the Yahoo Groups to preserve that content and enable people to use that forum if they desire. We are also providing a link to the existing photo albums at Smugmug (click on Photo Gallery).
The club is using the "Constant Contact" email distribution service to get announcements out to everyone. The advantage of Constant Contact is that it 'pushes' information out to everyone to put it in front of them in their email inboxes. A disadvantage of email is once it is sent the information can be deleted, lost in the bowels of an inbox, bounced as spam, and never seen again.
The advantage of discussion forums is that information, questions, rides and photos can be stored there and it is viewable and searchable by everyone forever. People can interact and get to know each other, unlike one-way broadcast emails. The disadvantage is that people have to GO there to see and participate.
We stand on the shoulders of many former members and hard-working club officers before us who created a vibrant club with lots of rides and information. Many wrote stimulating articles about their rides and escapades and we have links to as many old newsletters and meeting minutes as we could find. You can find them under "Club History."
