Am pulling together my camping gear and supplies and readying the last of the fluid changes on my BMW R1200Gs in an effort to leave (hopefully the first week of July) on a motorcycle tour through NM (Santa Fe, Taos, etc), Co (west slope of the Rockies, Mesa Verde NP, Ouray and into , Wy (Grand Teton, Yellowstone, possibly Montana (Glacier NP), Montana (Glacier) and hopefully Idaho (Coeur d’Alene). Plan is to truck my bike to NM or Colorado to beat the Texas heat. Might have room for two bikes on the bed of my 3/4 ton four door short bed four door diesel Dodge pickup,
If anyone is interested to travel together for different segments (when our schedules match up), advise and let’s start a loose plan. My tentative overall plan is to be on the road for about for a month plus and staying mostly in campgrounds.
Me- 69 years young still healthy and in great shape (play organized Sr. Mens hockey once per week, master’s swimmers, competitive big boat sailing racer). Clean cut (when not living out of what I can pack efficiently on my bike. Am very flexible on timing just so long as I’m out of Texas relatively soon.
