Club Meeting Minutes from 3/14/2026
---------------------------------------
o Next meeting is at WOLFSMITHS, but starts at 8AM this time
per Fernando.
o Next MOA Rally is June 11-13 at the Champlain Valley Exposition
Center in Essex Junction, Vermont. The event features 130 acres
of space for camping and RVs, offering easy access to scenic
Vermont riding routes.
o Safety on Two Wheels is offering Advanced Street Training and
Offroad courses. See the website safetyontwowheels.org
o Road Guardians - Two of the club members attended the recent
weekend training and described the course summaries. The
training is highly recommended, and Fernando has suggested that
all Club officers and ride leaders to take the training next
opportunity.
o BMW Car Club representatives talked about getting a combined
gathering of the two Clubs once more next October.
o Another member described their satisfaction with the product
EarPeace ear plugs, which are available on Amazon. I've also
been bombarded with ads for Zound Professional ear plugs.
All of the above named products, and the ones called
TheFitLife Ear Plugs that I wear which are no longer
available, are exactly the same product...???
o Dominic Drouin described his personal information lanyard that
he wears that contains important "In Case of Emergency"
information. Some of us only have an ICE phone sticker on
our bikes.
o Tech Day was held at Ted Skeffington's house again in Seabrook
on Saturday 3/28. Attendance was light due to a number of
activity conflicts, including Fernando having to work. Of
course this meant there were more Bratwursts to go around!!
Yum.
James Brown has the GS-911 and will bring it to the upcoming
meeting. My Win10 Laptop had problems with the hexgs911.com
application just displaying a white screen. Finally able
to diagnose as a downrev NVIDIA GPU graphics driver from
2015.
o Jerry Matson is still looking for experienced TWO-UP riders
to help out at the Ironman event in the Woodlands. They
carry camera men and race officials around. This is
scheduled for April 18th, 2026.
o Hill Country Hangout in Kerrville Texas is scheduled for
April 17-19. Nick Bell is promoting this event, and Jerry
mentioned he has attended twice. See their link at
sabmwra.org/hill-country-hangout-2026/
o Lost Maples Park Campout in Vanderpool Texas is scheduled
for April 23-26. There is a link on the Club Calendar to
sign up. Kevin Clark is coordinating this trip. Club
membership is required as the Club pays for camping fees
and a few extras.
o Our 2026 Annual Club Rally at the Oak Thicket Park in
Lake Fayette is scheduled for October 30 - November 1
this year:
o Hopefully the bugs don't get word that we backed up
the schedule two weeks, which once again includes
daylight savings weekend.
o Early planning has begun, so we are looking for any
suggestions to make this one even better then before.
o Last year during the Rally, we reserved a few (2?) of
their camping cabins to auction off, or sell the use
of to raise a little money. Let us know if you or
your group is interested in using one?
