-------------------------------------------------------

Club Meeting Minutes from 8/8/2026 at Wolfsmiths

-------------------------------------------------------

Club news reel....

o Our 2026 Annual Club Rally is now scheduled in Oak

Thicket Park at Lake Fayette from October 30 to November 1.

The Club has reserved two cabins for this year, but we may

just release them unless members want to pay for them.

Some of us plan to stay at the Best Western in La Grange,

just a few minutes down the road (I have my reservations

already). Planning for our Club's 60th Year Anniversary

continues.

****** Registration is now OPEN!! There are currently

twelve (12) registrants signed up. Planning for catering

is in-work, so we need to know how many are planning to

participate.

Nick Bell won't be able to make the Rally this year, so

Fernando has agreed to run the on-road ride on Saturday,

10/31. In fact, he is doing a dry-run this last weekend.

David McQueen also mentioned he has a schedule conflict,

as he's a really busy guy!!

o We had 20 participants in the Club meeting conducted

at Wolfsmiths [8/8].

o Fernando (PRES) discussed lane splitting and gear safety.

o James (VP) made a presentation on Club activities, funds,

our aging membership and some goals. He asked that

everyone participate in generating interest in the club,

and pickup some of our business cards to handout whenever

coming across a BMW rider. Members were asked to renew

their membership dues if you've fallen behind, as this

funds 4-5 major events.

o Nick Bell has a lesson learned to share with us that

caused him an ankle injury, but will have the discussion

at the 9/12 meeting instead. Can't wait.

o RTE to CC's cafe was attended by 16 riders on 8/29.

o Next Tech Day is being planned for October. TBA.

o Jerry Matson pointed out a "Diamond in the Rough"

Adventure Ride from November 12-15 for you serious off-

riders. Check out diamonddonempire.com/diamond-don-racing/

for more information. This is up around Jefferson Texas.

o Jerry Matson also pointed out the 21st Annual Barber

Vintage Festival from October 9-11 up in Birmingham

Alabama. See link at www.barbermuseum.org/

barber-vintage-festival/.

o A roadguardians.org Basic 100 Class is being offered on

Saturday, September 27 in Houston from 9am-5pm. See link

https://roadguardians.org/event/houston-tx-26-1125/

Location is American Legion Post #560, 3720 Alba Rd,

Houston 77018. This is 12 minutes west of Wolfsmiths.

Cost is $50 and they have -12- spots left.

o Safety on Two Wheels is offering BRC, Advanced Street

Training and Offroad courses. See the website

safetyontwowheels.org or call them at 713-955-7646.

o BMW Car Club and our BMW Motorcycle club will once again

have a combined gathering of the two clubs at the BMW Car

Dealership in Katy on Sunday, October 11th. Ride your

Classic bikes if possible.

o Bike Services are available from ....

o MPH Cycles in Hempstead. Call 281-647-6557 for Mike

Haven and Davy Parsons, or check www.mphcycles.com.

o J&B Cycleworks in Conroe. Call 936-266-0300 or

check jbcycleworks.com

o Motorcycles Unlimited in Houston. Call 281-444-0545

or check motorcycles-unlimited.com

o beemerboneyard.com is where you can order parts for

BMW repairs/mods. 973-775-3495

o MOTO 10 - Contact Alex

o Motorcycles Unlimited - Contact Patrick for tires.

Supported Activities ...

o Jerome Istin is looking for more MS150 Motorcycle

Marshall participants to start in October of 2026.

Contact him at jerome.istin@gmail.com.

o Jerry Matson coordinated the IRONMAN Motorcycle

support group on April 18th. He was 2-3 riders

short in 2026, and some riders had to ride longer

than anticipated. As the IRONMAN organization

contributes $$$$ to our Club, we need to step up

and fully support this event for Jerry.

VP Corner ...

o I picked up a nail in the rear tire during the RTE to

CC's Cafe on 8/29. I was able to use a screw-in plastic

patch that Jerry mentioned to us a few months ago. Kevin

wants to track how well this works against the repair kit

he demonstrated. I do have the MOA tire-replacement

insurance plan (~$250 refund) just in case.

o Who uses Foremost/AARP for your Motorcycle Insurance

carrier??? Are they good/bad? Cost comparison? Have

you found a better Insurance carrier for the money?

I've been getting ad's from them through AARP.

o Reservations at the Spaghetti Western have been made

for Sunday December 13, for the annual Christmas party.

An entry is now on our Calendar.

Action Items ...

o Start a thread for those interested in utilizing the

two camping cabins we have reserved for the Club Rally

at Lake Fayette starting October 30.

o Club 60th Anniversary at the Rally needs to have some

goodies for all to commemorate. Maybe a cake, or

Coffee cups.

o Members planning to attend the Rally need to sign up

so we can budget and order the appropriate amount of

food from the caterer.

o Next Club meeting will be at WOLFSMITHS on Saturday, 9/12/2026,

and it starts at 8AM again per Fernando!
