James, looks like you will have two more heading down to Noah's Ark today at 2pm. Looks like picture perfect weather today! See you there.

Oh, nice. I had no idea that 8 made it. Yes, I'm going at 2pm. Maybe just by myself then. I just wanted to try it, and give them some business.

I was there on Friday ! Not sure about today. We had about 8 people there and we ate inside.

I'm planning on riding to Noah's Ark in Baycliff on Sunday, about 2pm, as it's suppose to be 65 degrees and Sunny. They've got live music upstairs, but the outside patio should be good this time.
Anyone else interested in joining me?

I've informed the meetup that the weather is just too extreme to ride in, then eat lunch outdoors. I tried to talk Noah's into opening up the second level area for us, but they wouldn't budge. So, I recommend we try to do this another day.
If you want to go there anyway, let us know how you like it.
Thanks...

I've put forth the question on Meetup if we should consider canceling this event? Unfortunately, it's going to be 51 degrees and windy, just like it is outside now. And we get to eat lunch outside...

Based on the MeetUp activity, and several emails, we are looking at *18* riders at the Noah's Ark Bar & Grill in Bacliff at noon Friday. I just called Noah's to give them the number, and they were certain they could accommodate us with plenty of room to spread out. The Manager will call me back shortly to confirm, and I'll post here if there's a problem.
Address is 4438 Boulevard, Bacliff, TX 77518. Motorcycle parking is along the sea side of the building. It's suppose to be 52 degrees by noon, so dress and ride warm.

This lunch is gaining some traction. We have 8 people RSVPd in the Meetup group. I encourage people to RSVP there so we get a full head count and you get updates.

Noon is fine. I'll be riding from the Clear Lake area.
I'll call the Manager with a headcount by Thursday.

Let's do Noah's Ark. I haven't been there. If you pick a time to arrive there, I will create an event in our Meetup group to publicize it. If we don't get any takers, we can cancel.
I plan to start from Buccee's on Shadow Creek. I can also let people know where you are starting from if you want to get some riders.
FYI, don't sell Topwater short. There are some very nice waterside tables on the boat channel it faces. But let's go with Noah this time.

I stopped by the three sites, and I like "Noah's Ark in Bacliff Texas" the most. There's a row of motorcycle parking on the seaside of the building, and the Manager said to call with a headcount and we can reserve part of the upstairs with the plastic curtains raised for a breezy experience.Assuming the weather holds. Take a look at their website... https://noahsarkbarandgrill.com
T-Bone Tom's is OK if we want to watch the traffic drive by. And I've been there about 600 times.
Topwater Grill just didn't seem to be inviting for an outside gathering. I also got the impression that the place is part of a fishing boat dock. Keep in mind that I just rode all around the parking lot. No one was eating outside, and you couldn't really see in the windows.
So, that's my suggestion. If anyone out there has something better... let's hear it .
I also realize that Covid is on everyone's mind, so is there enough interest in doing this on Friday? There's only three of us in this conversation..

If I go, I'll do a slow, non-highway route, and would be happy for other slow riders to join me. I'd start from Buc-ee's, 11151 Shadow Creek Pkwy, Pearland, TX 77584. It would take about an hour to get to any of those places.

Friday's weather seems to be decent. Here's a few restaurant suggestions. I'm planning to ride by these this afternoon to see how the outdoor seating arrangements are.
o T-Bone Toms in Kemah. If we decide on this I'd suggest parking in the rear.
o Noah's Ark in Bacliff Texas. Seems to be a biker friendly site.
o Topwater Grill in San Leon Texas. My other club went here years ago, before it got hit by a hurricane.
Anyone else have an interest in riding on New Years day Friday, or making other restaurant suggestions?

I agree. I always seem to be working NYD. We'll see if we can identify a location, and get enough participants to meet up there. And keep the weather in-check.

We have had a traditional News Day ride for many years. Originally to the Hotel Galvez brunch (dropped because it was too expensive), and later to various. I don't recall if we had one last year.
I'd be interested if the place isn't too far away and it will be outside seating. I would join for lunch rather than ride with a group. (Slow bike)
