I'm not sure if this works on a 2005 but with newer bikes if the key fob battery dies an emergency measure is to hold the fob under the rear fender and try to start it. Underneath there should be a circle etched into the plastic (under the fender, over the tire, not under the seat). That is where the sensor is. It should recognize your fob passively and allow you to start. At least until you can replace the battery. HTH.

I had an 05 LT that had a factory recall / replacement of the security system back in 06. I always thought the system was too trick for a M/C... Good Luck

My 05 bmw k1200lt key fob just stopped working today and now I can not start my bike. Also my bike has a start kill, too. Any Suggestions??????
