Motorcycle insurance

I've had Dairyland for quite some time. Rates are reasonable and customer service is fantastic. I also received a discount after mentioning BMW membership.

With the BMW MOA membership one of the discounts we get is motorcycle insurance. It was in range of what I was getting with Dairyland. I've had the best luck with Dairyland. They have been cheaper than most and are more focused on Motorcycle insurange.

Progressive here as well. They have a tiered system so the longer you are with them the more discounts you get.

Also, consider that asking for anyone's experience with claims with them (or any insurance company) is anecdotal. It's just their story. Among thousands. And complainers just complain. You never hear/read anyone post about how they didn't use their insurance recently. You have to look at reviews over time to get a sense of a company's reputation.

And it is difficult to compare costs as there are so many variables. Brand/style/size of bike, riding experience, location, insurance features and levels of liability, UM, property, etc. I think the companies intentionally obfuscate their policies so it is difficult to compare.

Progressive has a good reputation and my sense is they are very competitive with their rates. I would have to research more about how their claims experience is (no personal experience, knock on wood).

I wouldn't mind sharing my policy statement with you if you are interested and you think it would be useful.

I have Progressive too. I just have liability to meet the legal requirements, so I will probably never know how well the pay on claims. But they are very inexpensive.

I've had Progressive since 2006. No claims so I can't tell you how they do in that regard. Great prices.

Anybody have a recomendation, or a red flag, for motorcycle insurance firms? I'm with State Farm, but they are expensive. I'm interested in responses regarding what you've experienced with your insurer, either good or bad. If you've had a policy for a while and never used it, unfortunately that won't help me.
