My guess would be that most local members are members of MOA as well. As for “active” that may be a matter for interpretation. Redmond is case in point - great venue with good rides to and from but our headcount there will likely be limited just due to the time commitment for the trip. I’m retired for now so will take my time and ride up visiting friends along the way but when working 10 days of semi-plugged in was the longest I could manage off.

Hi Talmadge. Thank you very much for the warm reception. Really appreciate that. I look forward to meeting you as well.

To your knowledge, are many of the members here actively involved with the BMW MOA as well? From what I gathered in viewing the MOA membership directory, there appear to be several members in the area who I haven’t met. I’d imagine several of them probably belong to this Club Chapter as well.

I’ll second Nick’s welcome! Plenty of good riding to be had - just mostly a day out from Houston. Hill Country, Big Bend, Piney Woods, and I’m just coming back on an Ozark ride myself. Look forward to meeting you at a club gathering soon!

Talmadge Wright - 1250 GSA & R9T are the 2 wheel toys at the moment.

Hi Nick. Nice to meet you and thanks for the invite. I won’t be able to make the Ozarks ride, but it is exactly the sort of ride that I enjoy. It’s what our bikes are made for.

I’m a lover of all things with 2 wheels and a motor. Having retired your BMW what sort of bikes are in your garage?

Nice wheels. Good to see you back in Texas although the riding is pretty flat near Houston. I am leading a ride to the Ozarks next month if you have the itch. Our ride sign ups are posted on MeetUp.com so you have to become a member there also. See the posting:

Nick Bell - 3 bikes in the garage although I no longer have a BMW (retired a K1600GTL after 11 years)

Hello everyone. My name is Thomas, aka Tango Alpha as I am known through the BMW MOA. I moved back to Texas after a 23 year hiatus and brought my wife, kids and my ‘02 R1150RT with me and we’re now settled in to our home in The Woodlands. I’m a man with numerous hobbies and interests, but my passion is motorcycles and I’ve been riding on/off for close to 40 years. In that time I’ve owned all different makes, models and types of bikes and have enjoyed them all. I’ve gone through phases in my motorcycle collecting/riding life where I have had as few as one bike or as many as five in my garage. However, my RT which I affectionately refer to as Der Beamer is (currently) my one and only bike. I’m sure that will change soon, as I have the itch to acquire another bike.

I look forward to meeting you at an upcoming ride or club meeting.

Tango Alpha
